Frequently asked questions

Is Rx.com legit?
Yes. Rx.com is a U.S. company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, and is LegitScript certified, the independent certification Google and the card networks use to vet online pharmacies and telehealth providers. Every visit is reviewed by a provider licensed in your state, and your medication is prepared by a state-licensed U.S. pharmacy from a patient-specific prescription. Prices are printed on this page, plans do not renew automatically, and you are only billed if a provider prescribes your medication.
What is a GLP-1 medication?
GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone your body makes after you eat. GLP-1 receptor agonists are prescription medications that act on that same receptor. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist; tirzepatide acts on the GLP-1 receptor and a second hormone receptor, GIP.
Semaglutide or tirzepatide: which should I choose?
Both are once-weekly injections. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor and is our lower-priced option; tirzepatide acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors. If you are unsure, start the visit for either one. Your provider reviews your history and decides which, if either, is appropriate before anything ships.
What does the price include?
Everything: the online provider visit and follow-ups, your medication at whatever dose your provider prescribes, syringes and alcohol pads, a dosing guide, cold-packed shipping and unlimited messaging with your care team. There are no visit fees, membership fees, dose upcharges or shipping charges.
Does the price change as my dose goes up?
No. We never charge by strength. Your provider steps your dose up over time and your plan price stays exactly the same. Only the plan length you choose changes the price.
Do I need insurance?
No. This is a cash-pay program and we do not bill insurance. Pay with a debit or credit card; many HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Who qualifies?
Adults 18 and over with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea or type 2 diabetes. A licensed provider makes the final decision after reviewing your online visit. GLP-1 medications are not for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, or who have had pancreatitis.
What happens after I start?
Your provider starts you at a low dose and plans any increases with you over the first few months, with check-ins before each refill and unlimited messaging with your care team. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and individual results vary.
Where is this available?
We currently serve 47 states (all except Alaska, Louisiana and Mississippi). Some states require a short video visit, which is handled during intake.
How do refills and cancellation work?
Your plan does not renew automatically. Before each refill your care team checks in with you, and nothing ships or is charged until you confirm. You can pause or cancel from your account at any time with no fees. Medication cannot be returned once shipped, so medication sales are final.
Medical care, not willpower

This is not about trying harder

Weight is a medical issue, and it deserves real medical care: a licensed provider who reviews your history, decides whether a prescription is appropriate, and stays with you through every dose change.

Important safety information

Boxed warning: semaglutide and tirzepatide caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rodent studies. It is not known whether they cause thyroid tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma, in people. Do not use them if you or any of your family have had medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and decreased appetite, most often while your dose is being increased. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, low blood sugar (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney injury from dehydration, and severe allergic reactions. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy, or under 18. Tell your provider about every medication and condition during your visit. This is not a complete list of risks.

Your next step is a 2-minute visit
