What is Denavir?
Denavir (penciclovir cream) is an antiviral topical medication used to treat recurrent cold sores on the lips and face in adults and adolescents over 12 years old. It works by inhibiting the viral DNA polymerase enzyme, thereby reducing the duration and severity of symptoms when applied at the first sign of a cold sore. Denavir should be used every 2 hours during waking hours for 4 days for optimal results.Side Effects
