What is Glycate ?

Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic medication used to reduce secretions in the mouth, throat, airways, and stomach, particularly during surgeries, and to help manage conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and peptic ulcers. It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates muscle contractions and secretions, thereby easing symptoms associated with excessive salivation and respiratory tract secretions. Glycopyrrolate is available in various forms, including oral and injectable, to accommodate different therapeutic needs.

• Constipation
• Urinary retention
• Blurred vision
• Tachycardia
• Headache
• Gastrointestinal disturbances
• Dry eyes
• Decreased sweating
• Confusion (particularly in the elderly)

• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma
• Monitor patients with hyperthyroidism
• Caution in patients with prostatic hypertrophy
• Use cautiously in patients with cardiac disease
• Can cause heat prostration in high temperatures due to decreased sweating
• Do not use in patients with known sensitivity to glycopyrrolate or its components
• Avoid use in patients with obstructive uropathy or obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract
• Caution in patients with myasthenia gravis
• May interact with other anticholinergic medications
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before use
