What is Miochol-E?
Miochol-E (acetylcholine chloride intraocular solution) is an ophthalmic miotic agent used primarily to induce rapid miosis, or constriction of the pupil, during surgical procedures such as cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. It works by activating cholinergic receptors in the eye to achieve contraction of the iris sphincter muscle, thus helping in the reduction of intraocular pressure and facilitating surgical manipulation.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Vision problems, eye clouding or swelling
