What is Targadox ?

Doxycycline Hyclate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline class, used to treat a variety of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, skin conditions, and sexually transmitted diseases. It functions by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, thus preventing their growth and proliferation. Additionally, Doxycycline Hyclate is employed in the prevention of malaria and as a treatment for acne and certain inflammatory diseases.

• Avoid prolonged sun exposure or use of tanning equipment, use sunscreen and protective clothing.
• Children under 8 years or pregnant women should avoid use due to risk of teeth discoloration and bone growth inhibition.
• May interfere with oral contraceptives; consider additional contraceptive methods.
• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney dysfunction.
• Reports of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD) have been observed with use of nearly all antibacterial agents, including doxycycline.
• Not to be used with isotretinoin due to increased risk of intracranial hypertension.
• Discontinue immediately if allergic reactions occur.
• Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking Doxycycline Hyclate to prevent esophageal irritation.
