What is Travatan Z ?

Travoprost (Bak Free) is a prostaglandin analog ophthalmic solution used to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor from the eyes, thereby helping to lower the elevated pressure that can lead to optic nerve damage. The "Bak Free" formulation indicates it does not contain benzalkonium chloride, a common preservative that can cause irritation in some patients.

• Travoprost may cause gradual changes in eye color by increasing the amount of brown pigment in the iris, which may be permanent.

• Contact lenses should be removed prior to application and can be reinserted after 15 minutes.
• Use with caution in patients with severe asthma.
• Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to any surface to avoid contamination.
